Bard On The Beach
Fans of Vancouver’s annual summer Shakespeare Festival - “Bard on the Beach” - know that getting a prime seat hasn’t always been easy....until now.
Previously, only general admission tickets were available, which meant long queues before the shows, with guests anxiously waiting to get inside. Then began the mad scramble to “claim” your seat with a sticky note (or strategically placed coat or umbrella), elbowing other theatre-goers out of the way for the best spot. Only then could you take a leisurely stroll to the concession tent for a pre-show glass of wine. Thankfully, that’s now a thing of the past.
With the help of Alto, Bard on the Beach has inaugurated a new main stage and bespoke seating system. Theatergoers can now reserve specific seats in advance and the seats themselves have been significantly upgraded to cinema-style upholstered chairs complete with armrests and cup holders.
